T-900 Series

Production date: 2028

By 2028 many of the more advanced model Terminators had turned against or abandoned Skynet, either of their own volition or due to being captured and re-programmed by the human resistance. To counteract this Skynet began developing prototype androids to wipe out these rogue Terminators. Skynet's first strategy was to design a model that could wipe ot Terminators with speed and brute force (the 900 series).

The three main variants of the 900 series are the infiltrators, armored guardians, and infiltrators designed specifically for time travel. All use exactly the same CPU, but the endoskeletons are quite different due to their roles. The files stored in non-volatile memory of the Terminator's brain are also completely different as the former possesses files and programming to mimic humans and the latter possesses files related to military tactics and special operation. Though all of these Terminator models are referred to as 900 Series, the Armored variants are actually T-930s.

Skynet would later develop yet another Terminator...

(Infiltrator)

FUNCTION
: Infiltration

INTELLIGENCE- The 900 Series Neural Net CPU is, in principle, very nearly identical to the brain of the T-800. However, the 900 series has undergone a dye shrink making it more power efficient and resilient, has more detailed files than the former models, and is supposed to have "write mode" disabled for non-volatile memory, making it impossible for the original mission of the Terminator to be overwritten by resistance hackers. As the 900 series CPU was granted the most extensive and detailed files for duplicating human behavior, deduction, military strategy, science, biology, etc, the ability for true independent thought was thought by Skynet to be an unnecessary risk. It did not want the new Terminators being subverted like some of the previous generations. The caching system of volatile memory is much faster in the 900 series granting it faster reaction time and an improved ability to formulate tactical maneuvers.

However, the resistance found a way to modify the chip so that the core programming of the CPU could have an instruction added placing it on an infinite loop upon boot, effectively negating the Terminator's original mission, re-enabling "write mode", and freeing non-volatile memory for newly programmed missions programmed by the resistance. This also enabled the Terminator to build upon its existing frame work of knowledge in order to improve communication with human allies and better anticipate enemy movements. As with the rogue T-800s this also resulted in the development of crude emotions.

A problem with this technique is that a corruption in the CPUs volatile memory could result in the original core programming being loaded. In this case the Terminator would intermittently act out on its original mission objectives and eventually succumb entirely to the original programming (until the CPU is removed and the cache is cleared). Any damage to the connectors between the CPU and the housing would have this effect. Fortunately, the connectors (unlike the rest of the CPU) can be repaired through conventional means.

COMBAT-
5 modes of operation:
  • direct (directed by Skynet defense computers like soldiers in a war game);
  • hive (directed by Skynet itself with the individual soldiers acting as an increment in a larger collective hive-mind);
  • automatic (individual units acting automatically to a variety of preprogrammed conditions);
  • autonomous (single units relinquished to their own control acting independently); and
  • rogue (fully self-aware units relinquished to their own control acting independently).
CONCEALMENT- Utilizes genetically enhanced tissue grown onto the endoskeleton that mimics the human body in every detail.  It bleeds, sweats, and bruises. The epidermal mold of the model TOK715 variant of the T-900 is based on a real human, Allison Young (a deceased member of the human resistance). Several epidermal molds were made using various specific humans as templates.

CONSTRUCTION- Hyperalloy battle chassis. Hyperalloy is a futuristic alloy made up of a number of different metals, such as Coltan. It is impossible to fabricate by modern standards and requires extensive materials and facilities to produce in high quality.  The T-900 has an endoskeleton that has undergone a hardening process making it more resistant to plasma phase weaponry and giving all of the components greater tensile strength, thus increasing the physical resilience of the unit as the strength due to the fact that it can lift more weight with out damaging the skeletal infrastructure. Height ranges from 5' to 6', depending on the role the human role the Terminator is intended to impersonate.

Though the smaller T-900 frame intended to mimic a female would be slightly less resilient than one intended to mimic a male, the hardening process would make either versions of the T-900 endoskeleton more durable and physically stronger than a T-800 or T-888. However, the T-850 has undergone the same hardening process as the T-900.

CAPABILITIES- In addition to the above listed capabilities, the T-900 has many features. The hydraulic system and power source (an iridium power cell) allow for the compact hyper alloy battle chassis of the T-900 to be as strong and durable as any previous model.  It can left several tons without even straining the infrastructure of the endoskeleton. It can run as fast as 35 miles per hour for extended periods with no significant wear on its hydraulic systems or servo-mechanisms, and can sprint as fast as a car at high speed.  It can even perform such speeds while wearings its human tissue. .

The T-900 is equipped with a superior sensory suite including night vision and telescopic vision. It can see into the infrared and ultraviolet portion of the light spectrum which is invisible to humans. It can also detect microwave and radio transmissions.

WEAPONRY- Capable of utilizing any weapon the unit is likely to come into contact with.

WEAK POINTS-

  • T-900s that do not have "write mode" enabled in their CPUs can be at a tactical disadvantage when confronted with unusually resourceful humans.

THREAT LEVEL- Highest (when self-aware)

T-930
(Armored Destroyer)

FUNCTION: Terminator Destroyer

INTELLIGENCE- The T-930 possesses the 900 Series Neural Net CPU . This CPU is, in principle, very nearly identical to the brain of the T-800. However, the 900 series has undergone a dye shrink making it more power efficient and resilient, has more detailed files than the former models, and is supposed to have "write mode" disabled for non-volatile memory, making it impossible for the original mission of the Terminator to be overwritten by resistance hackers. As the 900 series CPU was granted the most extensive and detailed files for military tactics, the ability for true independent thought was thought by Skynet to be an unnecessary risk. It did not want the new Terminators being subverted like some of the previous generations. The caching system of volatile memory is much faster in the 900 series granting it faster reaction time and an improved ability to formulate tactical maneuvers.

The programming is extensive enough that it is unlikely that the T-930 will encounter a novel tactical scenario. Based on its knowledge base it can quickly deduce the correct course of action (via expert system software) with no need for creative thinking, intuition, or innovation.

COMBAT-
4 modes of operation:
  • direct (directed by Skynet defense computers like soldiers in a war game);
  • hive (directed by Skynet itself with the individual soldiers acting as an increment in a larger collective hive-mind);
  • automatic (individual units acting automatically to a variety of preprogrammed conditions); and
  • autonomous (single units relinquished to their own control acting independently).
CONCEALMENT- The T-930 frame appears similar to the human musculature. This enables it to use a smaller epidermal layer than the T-800. This skin layer is either a form of scentless duraplast that resembles real skin or a thin layer of cybernetic tissue. Depending on the mission it can simply have the disguise over the head and hands, while wearing clothing or combat fatigues. The armored T-930 is not as effective for infiltration as the non-armored T-900. For one, it weighs half a ton.

CONSTRUCTION- The T-930 is equipped with a heavily armored hyperalloy battle chassis that has been hardened to withstand plasma weaponry. The only weak points are areas that vent out the heat from its redundant power supply, which also causes the endoskeleton to glow.  This armored endoskeleton has greater tensile strength and resilience than the T-800 and is roughly twice as durable and strong.

CAPABILITIES- In addition to the above listed capabilities, the T-930 has many features. The hydraulic system and power source (an iridium power cell) allow for the hyper alloy battle chassis of the T-930 to be as strong and durable as any previous model.  It can left several tons without even straining the infrastructure of the endoskeleton. It can run as fast as 20 miles per hour for extended periods with no significant wear on its hydraulic systems or servo-mechanisms, and can sprint as fast as a car at medium speed. It is not as fast as the T-900 due to the increased mass of the unit.

The T-930 is equipped with a superior sensory suite including night vision and telescopic vision. It can see into the infrared and ultraviolet portion of the light spectrum which is invisible to humans. It can also detect microwave and radio transmissions.

WEAPONRY- Capable of utilizing virtually all weapons. Issued with plasma phase rifles.

WEAK POINTS-

  • T-930s do not have "write mode" enabled in their CPUs and can be at a tactical disadvantage when confronted with unusually resourceful humans or rogue terminators capable of innovative thinking.

THREAT LEVEL- Very high.

T-950
(Temporal Warfare)

FUNCTION: Temporal Warfare

INTELLIGENCE- The T-950 CPU is essentially identical to that of the T-900 and the resistance used exactly the same exploit to reprogram many of these models.

COMBAT-
5 modes of operation:
  • direct (directed by Skynet defense computers like soldiers in a war game);
  • hive (directed by Skynet itself with the individual soldiers acting as an increment in a larger collective hive-mind);
  • automatic (individual units acting automatically to a variety of preprogrammed conditions);

CONSTRUCTION- Hyperalloy battle chassis & real human tissue covering (both identical to that of T-900), but with the exception that the T-950 has onboard weapons systems. As with the later T-X, the hands can be reconfigured into plasma phase weapons.

CAPABILITIES- In addition to the above listed capabilities, the T-950 has many features. The hydraulic system and power source (an iridium power cell) allow for the compact hyper alloy battle chassis of the T-950 to be as strong and durable as any previous model.  It can left several tons without even straining the infrastructure of the endoskeleton. It can run as fast as 35 miles per hour for extended periods with no significant wear on its hydraulic systems or servo-mechanisms, and can sprint as fast as a car at high speed.  It can even perform such speeds while wearings its human tissue. .

The T-950 is equipped with a superior sensory suite including night vision and telescopic vision. It can see into the infrared and ultraviolet portion of the light spectrum which is invisible to humans. It can also detect microwave and radio transmissions.

WEAPONRY- The T-950 has onboard plasma phased weapons (and others). Both hands can be reconfigured into high powered plasma phase cannons.  As these weapons are part of the endoskeleton and concealed underneath the organic epidermis, the T-950 can take them through time portals.
